McClellan, Ala. Lumpkin, a native of Atlanta, and his fellow Soldiers in the 642nd RSG practiced the fundamentals of how to shoot, move and communicate in rooms, houses and buildings. The confined spaces, various entry ways and multi-story structures commonly found in cities, towns and villages require intricate planning and specialized training far removed from tactics suitable for rural terrain.
