    As a P-3 aircraft from Patrol Squadron 4 taxis in the background, an MH-53E helicopter from Helicopter Countermeasures Squadron -14 prepares to deliver food and water to people effected by a 9.0-magnitude earthquake that triggered a devastating tsunami along Japan's Eastern coastline. HM-14 personnel are conducting humanitarian assistance missions in Japan following a 9.0-magnitude earthquake that triggered a devastating tsunami along Japan's eastern coastline. HM-14 is currently operating onboard USS Tortuga in support of Operation Tomodachi. Operation Tomodachi (Japanese for “friendship”) involves 14 U.S. Navy ships, more than 100 aircraft and thousands of U.S. service members assisting with disaster relief and humanitarian development assistance.
