Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, has eight CH-46E Sea Knight helicopters here providing support for Operation Tomodachi. HMM-265 arrived here March 13 and has been transporting troops and cargo in and out of northern Japan. The proximity of Marine aviation assets at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma has allowed Marines from III MEF to rapidly deploy critically-needed supplies and aid to areas that need it most.
