A U.S. Airman assigned to the 1st Combat Communications Squadron replaces a tent pole during Exercise Lending Hand on Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Aug. 21, 2017. The 1st CBCS was one of several squadrons who worked together to open a base for the exercise. Exercising together helped the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing identify opportunities for improvement and ensure personnel can function cohesively when a contingency happens and the U.S. needs to open a base in a remote location, the wing can do so quickly and efficiently.
