ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 12, 2017) Gunner's Mate 2nd Class James Stavlo, of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Sonar Technician (Surface) 3rd Class Lance Gacek, of Chicago, are recovered while conducting search and rescue training aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS San Jacinto (CG 56) during Hurricane Irma relief efforts. The Department of Defense is supporting Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Irma to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
