U.S. Army Sgt. Martin Ennor, an infantry team leader and his unit’s director of marksmanship from Parkersburg, Iowa, moves around U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jacob Downs, a supply sergeant and weapons trainer from Tipton, Iowa, as Downs lays down covering fire during a drill to simulate reacting to enemy contact at Forward Operating Base Torkham Gate March 4. The two soldiers, both with Company B, 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, are two of Iowa’s top military shooters, having both won the Governor’s 10 rifle and pistol competition. Now both soldiers are lending their shooting and instructional talents toward improving the marksmanship of their fellow soldiers in Afghanistan.
