Soldiers from Turkey, Romania, Poland and Norway stand in formation in preparation for an opening ceremony marking the official beginning of Exercise Rapid Trident 2017 at the Yavoriv Combat Training Center on the International Peacekeeping and Security Center in Western Ukraine on Sept. 11.
Approximately 1,800 service members from 14 different countries are participating in this year’s Exercise Rapid Trident. The exercise, which consists of a multinational, brigade-level, computer-assisted command post exercise, a battalion-level field training exercise and platoon-level situational training exercises, is designed to build interoperability between Ukraine and other NATO partners and allies.
