U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS – The 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and America Amphibious Ready Group conduct an offload of personnel and equipment during Alligator Dagger to increase proficiency in amphibious operations, Sept. 4, 2017. Continued rehearsal of amphibious maneuvers increases the 15th MEU-America ARG’s efficiency to better respond to crises, ranging from humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions to combat operations in the event there is a need for an immediate response to a crisis. Alligator Dagger is an amphibious exercise with the ARG and MEU in order to increase proficiency and enable the force to train for amphibious operations within U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
