Pfc. Edward A. Liebi, a soldier with the 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, is the first to enter and make purchases at the tactical field exchange Camp Marmal, Afghanistan March 7 following the ribbon cutting ceremony. Liebi, from California, Mo., stood in line one hour waiting for the highly anticipated event. The 53-foot self-contained trailer holds 400 different items including health and beauty products, underclothes, snacks, drinks, tobacco products, footlockers, energy drinks and more. The TFE is one of several AAFES facilities being built on the camp for service members and civilians to help reduce stress and improve the quality of life and morale of permanent and transient personnel. Over the next 90 days a barber shop, beauty shop with spa, Green Beans Coffee, Pizza Hut and Burger King should arrive. The facilities are being coordinated by the 4th CAB as part of their mayoral duties for the U.S. portion of Camp Marmal. (Photo by: Sfc. VeShannah J. Lovelace)
