Airman 1st Class John Elliot of the 156th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, talks with a medical responder from the Gadsden Alabama Fire Department after offloading eleven patients from the Lower Keys Medical Center in Florida into the hand of the Gadsden Alabama Regional Medical Center, while at the Northeast Alabama Regional Airport, Gadsden Alabama, Sept. 6, 2017. The patients were evacuated prior to the arrival of Hurricane Irma a category five storm that is expected to cause catastrophic damage to the regions it makes landfall. The 156th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron of the North Carolina Air National Guard provides medical care for wounded individuals while transporting them to alternate locations for further care.
