The Nevada Air National Guard mobilized a C-130 to help with the historic devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey. Upon notification, the crew of seven departed for Texas. After arriving, they were instantly tasked to fly into flood torn areas to help those in need. Over the past 7 days the C-130 crew flew 8 sorties for a total of 13.6 flight hours, air evacuated over a 137 passengers including 10 bound to wheelchairs, 4 dogs and 2 cats. The crew transported 9,000 pounds of cargo as well as moving 20 medical support personnel to support relief efforts.
