A Coast Guard crewmember from Station Cape Disappointment assists three canoeists to safety after they became stranded in Jetty Lagoon near Fort Stevens in Hammond, Ore., Sept. 3, 2017.

The three canoeists, a mom and and two children, suffered only minor injuries during the incident.
