(Sep. 1, 2017) – Volunteer Karen DeLorenzo, shows a barnacle collected from a deceased gray whale to Geoff Emly, from Tacoma, Wash., and his son Oscar at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center (PTMSC). To help facilitate natural tissue removal, U.S. Naval Magazine Indian Island worked with the PTMSC by providing safe anchorage for the deceased whale near its facility in Port Townsend Bay.
