Soldiers assigned to the 36th Engineer Brigade and other units, load boxes of meals, ready-to-eat (MRE) into an American Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle as part of a Supply Delivery Operation where their unit supplied 32,000 MREs to Beaumont, Texas Sep. 1. The Department of Defense is conducting Defense Support of Civil Authorities operations in response to the effects of Hurricane Harvey. DSCA operations are part of the DOD’s response capability to assist civilian responders in saving lives, relieving human suffering and mitigating property damage in response to a catastrophic disaster.
