Ramirez’s squad had set up a hasty checkpoint to inspect vehicles for contraband to prepare for the types of missions they will be conducting as part of a multi-national taskforce deployed to Kosovo, a former Yugoslav republic located in southeast Europe, to help bring stability to the fledgling nation.
