Friends and family of U.S. Marines assigned to Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 311 wait in the squadron's hanger on Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma, Ariz., for their Marines to return from a 7-month deployment with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Aug. 26, 2017. VMA-311 supported the 31st MEU and conducted operations in Japan, Korea, and Australia. This is the last deployment AV-8B Harrier II aircraft will support the 31st MEU.
