    451st Air Expeditionary Wing

    Staff Sgt. Jonathan Shipp removes stuck screws from an access panel of an A-10C Thunderbolt II during a phase inspection, Feb. 22, 2011, at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. The 451st Air Expeditionary Wing’s Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron conducts a phase inspection every 500 flight hours. Twenty inspections have been conducted in the past five months indentifying and repairing more than 6,000 total discrepancies. Sgt. Shipp is an aircraft structural maintenance craftsman assigned to the 451st EMXS.
