CAIRNS, Australia -- U.S. Marines and soldiers, along with soldiers from the Australian Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army pose for a photo after embarking on a kayaking expedition during Exercise Kowari 2017 Aug. 24, 2017. Participants were paired with a soldier from one of the other participating nations in order to boost interaction and teamwork, as they paddled sea kayaks 30 kilometers in two days. Kowari is an annual adventure training activity held in Australia to reinforce trilateral military relationships, trust and co-operation between Australia, China and the United States.
