U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Don Gillam, a Ghuzlani Warrior Training Center instructor assigned to 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, observes Iraqi soldiers with 2nd Battalion, 11th Brigade, 3rd Iraqi Army Division, practicing room clearing techniques, Feb. 6, 2011. Gillam, a former drill sergeant, said the current battalion's rotation at GWTC will provide more attention to room clearing and urban operations to match the Iraqi soldiers' operating environment in and around Mosul. IA units are training daily on individual and collective tactics, techniques and procedures to modernize the IA's tactical capabilities as part of Tadreeb al Shamil, Arabic for All Inclusive Training.
