A landing craft, vehicle, personnel (LCVP), also known as "Higgins Boat", is placed for display for the future National Museum of the United States Army at Fort Belvoir, Va., Aug. 8, 2017. Gen. Dwight H. Eisenhower said the Higgins Boat "won the war," as its simple yet innovative design brought more troops to shore landings in Europe and the Pacific during World War II than all other crafts combined.
