Lance Cpl. Mason J. Blankenship, an Assault Amphibious Vehicle driver with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in March 2016 after graduating from Amelia High School. Blankenship is currently supporting Exercise Talisman Saber 17 in Freshwater Beach, Shoalwater Training Area, Australia, July 20, 2017. Talisman Saber is a biennial exercise designed to improve the interoperability of Australian and U.S. forces.
