Fireman Joshua Hazelett, a hull technician from Eureka, Mo., uses a brace torch and braising rod to weld a joint together on board the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Braising is a common, lower heat welding technique used to weld joints together. The Ronald Reagan Strike Group is currently underway conducting Joint Task Force Exercises before deploying to the Western Pacific and Central Command areas of operation.
