The Avillan Murray memorial was rededicated, June 25, 2017, in front of the Defense Military Pay Office on Fort Campbell, Kentucky by the Soldiers of the 101st Financial Management Support Unit, 101st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Sustainment Brigade, 101st Abn. Div. The memorial was in honor of Capt. Luis A. Avillan and Staff Sgt. Michael A. Murray, who were part of the Fort Campbell finance team, who passed during the Gander plane crash on Dec. 12, 1985 during their return from a peacekeeping mission in Sinai, Egypt.
