170801-N-UX013-206 CAIRNS, Australia (Aug. 1, 2017) Sailors man the rails during a sea and anchor detail as the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) departs from port. Ashland, part of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), visited Cairns to advance U.S.-Australian relations after participating in the bilateral training exercise Talisman Saber. During the visit, Sailors and Marines participated in community relations’ projects and experienced the culture of the historic city.
