Senior Airman Michael Kushma, deployed from the 1st Combat Communications Squadron at Ramstein AB, Germany, warms his hands near a bonfire at Forward Operating Base Waza K'wah, Paktika province, Afghanistan. The bonfire is a weekly ritual where both army and air force members gather together to relax and enjoy each others company and help lift morale. Kushma is one of four airmen assigned to the FOB to help provide communications support.
