A recruit from Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, performs a take down during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program training session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, May 22. Recruits learn the basic fundamentals of MCMAP and will test out for their tan belts later in training. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 4.
