PACIFIC OCEAN – Marines with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Aviation Combat Element, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (Reinforced), conduct preflight checks on an MV-22B Osprey before takeoff for night qualification flights aboard amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), July 10, 2017. Ospreys, with long-range capabilities, are used to carry supplies and Marines from ship to shore when needed.
