Maj. Gen. Rupert Jones, the Deputy Commander-Strategy and Support (S&S), Combined Joint Task Force, meets with a shop owner in West Mosul. MG Jones spoke with him about the liberation and how he feels going forward. The West Mosul market opened for the first time in 9 months. The markets and local shops were closed due to the barbaric control of ISIS. Prime Minister Abadi declared ‘the end of the ISIS statelet’ in Mosul and the so called ISIS caliphate, on June 29, 2017. The Coalition forces and partners are here in support of Operation Inherent Resolve to aid and assist the Government of Iraq to defeat ISIS and liberate the people of Iraq.
