QUEENSLAND, Australia – Lance Cpl. Shane Waters, a machine gunner with Company L, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Marine Rotational Force Darwin, rides on an Australian S-70 Black Hawk during Exercise Talisman Saber 17 Field Training Exercise - East, July 17, 2017. The exercise enhanced interoperability between U.S. armed forces and Australian Defence Forces by learning from each other’s tactics. Talisman Saber is a jointly sponsored exercise between U.S. Pacific Command and the Australian Defence Force’s Joint Operations Command, and incorporates U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and the Australian Defence Force, as well as other government agencies from each country.
