Petty Officer 3rd Class Kenneth Menzies of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3, fills in his section of a Seabee Combat Warfare poster after he earned his SCW designation, Jan. 26, at the Command Operation Center in Camp Krutke, the Seabee Camp within Camp Leatherneck. NMCB 3 made the poster to be a constant graphical reminder of how many Seabees and sailors at the command need to qualify SCW. Earning a SCW designation is different from other warfare qualifications as the SCWS programs makes the enrollee’s plan and demonstrate different deployments, patrols and combat operations and construction operations as a final board. A SCW designation states that the Seabee is competent to plan and lead a mission that is consummate with their pay grade. NMCB 3 is part of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command’s warfighting support elements, providing construction operations and security in support of overseas contingency operations.
