Australian service members, including Australian Army Brigadier Chris Field, AM, CMC, met with U.S. Marine Corps Col. Tye. R Wallace and U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Jim Lanham as part of a tour of the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during Exercise Talisman Saber 17, July 23, 2017. Field is the commander of 3rd Brigade, Wallace is the commanding officer of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and Lanham is the 31st MEU’s sergeant major. Talisman Saber is a biennial exercise designed to improve the interoperability between Australian and U.S. forces.
