Lanham is the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit’s sergeant major, Wallace is the 31st MEU’s commanding officer and Field is the commander of 3rd Brigade. Wallace and Lanham presented the framed picture as a sign of appreciation for the Australian Defence Force as allies in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region after the 31st MEU partnered with their Australian military counterparts during Exercise Talisman Saber 17. Talisman Saber is a biennial exercise designed to improve the interoperability between Australian and U.S. forces.
