PACIFIC OCEAN (July 20, 2017) - Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class Sarah Miller, assigned to USS Chafee (DDG 90), reads verbiage in preparation to pass word as boatswain's mate of the watch, while standing watch in the pilot house. Chafee is deployed to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of responsibility in support of UNITAS 2017. UNITAS is an annual exercise that focuses on strengthening our existing regional partnerships and encourages establishing new relationships through the exchange of maritime mission-focused knowledge and expertise throughout the exercise.
