Air National Guard Engineers conduct operational checks and safety briefings prior to debris clearance operations with the Erie County Highway Department near Holland, New York following tornado storm damage on July 20, 2017. The New York Air National Guard Engineers are assigned to the 107th Attack Wing Civil Engineering Squadron, based in Niagara Falls. They are part of the 100-member joint National Guard response element to assist local emergency responders with recovery efforts. A tornado touched down in Erie County in Western New York State, leaving an initial 20,000 residents without power and downing powers lines and trees, blocking local roads with debris.
