PACIFIC OCEAN (July 19, 2017) - Aviation Machinist's Mate 3rd Class John Foley, assigned to Helicopter Submarine Maritime (HSM) 47 Detachment 4 "Players", checks the oil level in the tail gearbox of an MH-60R helicopter as a pre-flight check on the flight deck of USS Chaffee (DDG 90). Chaffee is deployed to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of responsibility in support of UNITAS 2017. UNITAS is an annual exercise that focuses on strengthening our existing regional partnerships and encourages establishing new relationships through the exchange of maritime mission-focused knowledge and expertise throughout the exercise.
