Col. Michael Scalise awards representatives of the Child Development Centers with the Safety Excellence Award at the Tarawa Terrace II CDC on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., July 19, 2017. The award was given in recognition of their outstanding performance on an unannounced inspection by Headquarters Marine Corps of the Child and Youth Programs during the month of April. “We are not done,” said Rachel Nelson. “We still have more to do, and I am glad to see each and every one of you committed to it.” Scalise is the commander of Marine Corps Installations East, Marine Corp s Base Camp Lejeune.
