CORONADO, California (July 14, 2017) – Seaman Alyssa Resendez, assigned to Landing Craft Unit 1, assists in loosening the bolts attaching the canopy to the top of Landing Craft 1630 in preparation for a boarding operation with USS Essex (LHD 2). LCU 1’s mission is to conduct ship to shore movements and assist amphibious ships to obtain training qualifications to meet mission readiness.
