Japan Martime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) personnel conduct water survival training with Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) personnel at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, July 13, 2017. JMSDF practiced their water rescue skills by using Japanese US-2 aircraft to deploy an inflatable raft and using an MCH-101 helicopter to rescue JGSDF personnel who simulated drowning. The bi-annually training ensures the pilots know how to react in the case of an emergency. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Jacob A. Farbo)
