Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Katherine Leon, assigned to USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), strikes a fighting pad held by a Marine assigned to Light Armored Reconnaissance Company, Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion 6th Marines, while conducting the oleoresin capsicum confidence course portion of a non-lethal training class aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship July 7, 2017. The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit is underway with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
