170707-N-SB201-275 GROTON, Conn. - (July 7, 2017) The 31st Chief of Naval Operations, Adm. John Richardson addresses Sailors from the Groton-area submarine community during an all-hands call in Dealey Theater onboard Naval Submarine Base, New London in Groton, Conn. Richardson described the missions facing today’s Sailors including increased competition from other nations in all domains, maintaining freedom of navigation and tensions on the Korean peninsula. Richardson spent the majority of the all-hands call answers questions from Sailors in the audience. Sailors’ questions were as wide ranging as supporting a potentially larger fleet, rating modernization, a revised physical fitness assessment to an updated performance evaluation system and more.
