Honor Guard Team Members carry the remains of Staff Sgt. Brian Jacobson into the shelter during the interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetary, Minn., May 7. In 2006 Jacobson joined the 2-147 Assault Battalion, MNARNG in the Flight Operations Section. After a transfer to the 34 Combat Aviation Brigade headquarters as an aviations operations sergeant, Jacobson deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 08-10 as a current operations battle NCO for Task Force 34 tracking and managing fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Due to outstanding and superior performance he was honored with a battlefield promotion to staff sergeant. Jacobson along with lovely and supportive wife Ember; their daughter Sha'melah, 15, and son Atlas, 2, currently reside at their 5-acre hobby farm filled with three dogs and an ark full of animals in the rolling country-side near Lake City, Minn.
