31st Marine Expeditionary Unit       

Jacob Colvin is a lance corporal in the United States Marine Corps. At 20, he enlisted as a Marine combat videographer from his home near Shepherdstown, West Virginia after graduating from Jefferson High School in 2013. He is currently assigned to Armed Forces Network Pacific at Yokota Air Base, Japan. He is supporting the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during a regularly scheduled patrol of the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. The Marines and Sailors of the 31st MEU specialize in a variety of combat arms and combat-enabling specialties. The 31st MEU regularly patrols the Indo-Asia-Pacific region aboard the Navy vessels of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group. The 31st MEU partners with the Navy’s Amphibious Squadron 11 to form the amphibious component of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group. The 31st MEU and PHIBRON 11 combine to provide a cohesive blue-green team capable of accomplishing a variety of missions across the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
