Chief Petty Officer Michael McCaskill speaks to President Obama while onboard U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Wrangell Dec. 28. He said the president wished everyone onboard a Merry Christmas and thanked them for the job they are doing during the holiday season. McCaskill serves as engineering petty officer onboard Wrangell and is a native of Concord, N.C. The cutter was underway on Christmas Day providing Maritime Infrastructure Protection operations in the territorial water of Iraq in the Persian Gulf.
