U.S. Marine Col. Michael V. Samarov, the commander of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command, examines a machine gun mount with U.S. Marine Sgt. Maj. Glenn D. Samarov met with different elements of his unit and various key leaders during his circulation to different countries in Central America in which SPMAGTF-SC is operating. The Marines and sailors of SPMAGTF-SC are deployed to Central America for the next six months to conduct security cooperation training and engineering projects with their counterparts in Honduras, Guatemala, Belize and El Salvador.
