Jerry Macchione, a heavy construction equipment operator with the 262nd Engineer Company (Horizontal) operates a Bulldozer with Ripper as part of an airfield reconstruction project a the Deepwoods Training SIte near Old Town, June 15-22, 2017. This project benefits avaition, but it also benefts the engineers by giving them quality time using equipment and honing their skills that are part of their Mission Essential Task LIst, specifically construction and runway repair. For new soldiers this project meant a chance to get out ofthe classroom and gain hands on experience with the equipment. "I've spent 35-40 hours on the dozer," said Macchione. "It's been a great experience, and everyone's been really helpful." June 15-22, 2017.
