Cpl. Nicholas D. Pelusio, a team leader, and Lance Cpl. Michael T. Minor, a rifleman, with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, clear the balconies of a building at the Las Pulgas Military Operations in Urban Terrain town, Dec. 11. The Marines of 2nd Squad were tasked with conducting a cordon-and-search and setting up security for a planned key leader engagement in the village. Pelusio’s team was sent to clear the building and provide over watch for the other teams maneuvering within the village once the squad received heavy contact. Pelusio is from Las Vegas, and Minor is from Sea Groove, N.C.
