Petty Officer 2nd Class Lourdevan Timtiman, logistics specialist, uses a metal detector to search a Marine acting as a simulated evacuee during a noncombatant evacuation operations drill aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock. Comstock, part of the Boxer Amphibious Readiness Group, Combat Logistics Battalion 13, and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, are underway off the coast of Southern California participating in certification exercise in preparation for deployment in early 2011.
