170615-N-UX013-1313 PHILIPPINE SEA (June 15, 2017) Marines assigned to the Amphibious Recon Platoon (ARP), attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and embarked on the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), clear a path to the bridge of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) during a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) exercise. Ashland, part of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, is operating in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to enhance partnerships and be a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
