On June 21, 2017, the Coast Guard sent an Air Station Houston MH-65 dolphin crew to assist a fishing vessel that was taking on water.
A dewatering pump was lowered, and helped the vessel to stabilize and stop taking on water. The Coast Guard Cutter Pompano escorted the vessel back to Freeport. An HC-144 Ocean Sentry crew also provided air support to maintain visual contact and radio communications.
