MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – Marines with 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Battalion Landing Team guide disoriented local citizens in a notional country to a safer location during Certification Exercise, June 12, 2017. Interacting with the local population may be required while conducting operations on the MEU’s upcoming 17-2 deployment, understanding customs of a local population is imperative for proper relationship building. CERTEX is the last in a series of training exercises, which certifies the MEU capable for deployment in support of fleet and combatant commanders across the full range of military operations.
